How reviews work
Every review on this site comes from someone who hired the vehicle. There is no other way for one to get here.
Who can leave one
Only someone who sent a request through Indie Hire and completed the hire. After the hire ends we email that person a single-use link. Without the link there is no way to leave a review, so nobody can post about a hire that did not happen, and an operator cannot write their own.
What happens to it
- Nobody edits it. Not the operator, and not us. A review goes up as it was written.
- The operator may reply once. Their reply appears underneath, attributed to them, so you can read both sides and judge for yourself.
- An operator cannot remove one. They can flag a review they believe breaks the rules, which asks a person to look at it. Flagging is not removing.
- We only take one down for a reason we will state. Personal details, abuse, or something that is plainly not about a hire. Not for being critical.
What the score means
The number next to an operator is their average, smoothed so a single review cannot send them to the top or the bottom. It always appears with the count and the source, so you can see what it rests on. Stars never appear on their own.
An operator with no reviews says "No reviews yet". That usually means they are new to Indie Hire, not that something is wrong, and it is why reviews are only part of how results are ordered.
